My Journey to Running
I started running in 2010, I was 15 lbs heavier at that time with a borderline bloodsugar.
Initially I was just brisk walking. I joined my first 3k race by just walking. I can't hardly continuously run for a minute.
It was more than a year when I finally and seriously train to run.
In Feb of 2012, I enrolled myself to a running clinic and with the help of a trainer I gradually transition from brisk walking to more than a minute running. They called it "galloway" 3 minutes run, 1 minute walk. Almost everyday, I go to sports center to do leg strengthening and core training i.e. planking, push ups, lunges etc. It was really hard work. I spend more than two hours to do the training, 4-5 time a week and it was not easy. You can hear me and my running buddies constantly complaining while doing these exercises.
Every Sunday, we have our LSD (Long and Slow Distance) run.
After 6 months of training, I joined my 21k race with a result of 3hours and 30mins. 6 months after that or a year after training I dared to run my first 42k and it took me 6 hours and 33 mins to finish it.
This morning I finished a 21k race with new PR of 2hours and 32 mins.
